Growth of tumor in nervous system is one of the primary Neurofibromatosis symptoms. This disease is a kind of genetic disorder and causes abnormality in supporting nerves and myelin sheath i.e. a thin muscular covering which provides protection to nerves. In addition, this nervous disorder causes some kind of alteration in the skin and deformation in the bones of a patient. The disease is classified into two types:

-          Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).

-          Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2).

Both of the above types of the disorder are characterized from one another on the basis of difference in occurrence of tumor. The disease is normally genetically transformed and transfers from one generation to another by the person who is bearing such kind of genetic disorder. Secondly, gene mutation is also a reason of occurrence of Neurofibromatosis Symptoms. The specific gene gets mutant to give rise to the growth of tumor and later the disorder gets transferred to the successors of generation.

Basically the two types of this genetic disorder are differentiated due to varied Neurofibromatosis symptoms in both the cases. Some of the common symptoms of this disease are as follows:

  • Any kind of alteration in the appearance of the skin such as occurrence of spots or patches on skin surface.
  • Deformation of bones can also be seen.
  • Formation of tumor in the nervous system.
